Mother's Day Tea Party

On Tuesday, May 14, the JK and SK classes invited their mommy’s, granny’s, aunt’s and sister’s for a Mother’s Day Tea Party.

The students presented a selection of poems, prayers and songs for those in the audience.

After the performance everyone enjoyed some treats with a spot of tea!

The Whole World in Our Hands!

Noticing that not many classes were using their recycling and garbage bins appropriately, the Eco-Team challenged the school to place items in the correct bin.

In preparation for this challenge we read some books about the importance and benefits of recycling.

We also completed a sorting activity about items to toss in the garbage and recycling bin.

Finally, we created a bulletin board reflecting our lesson and the Eco-Team challenge.

Bird Feeders

Today the kinder kiddies made bird feeders.

We used paper towel and toilet paper rolls, honey and sunflower seeds to create our sticky treat!

Some students took their creations home, while others decided to hang them on the big maple tree in front of the school.

Recycled Robots

The kindergarten students collaborated with their Reading Buddies to create robots.  This activity was the culminating task to wrap up our 3-D shapes unit.  This activity also introduced some students (and reminded most) about how many products we can recycle!

Earth Day 2013

Celebrating the Earth

On April 22, 2013, our school celebrated Earth Day.

Our fabulous Eco Team prepared bags and gloves for each class to use when cleaning up the school yard.

Here are some pictures from our exciting clean up.
